Would be great to get this PR merged, can someone from the project checkstatus this, posting for updates as necessary? @aljim are you happy to chase this up again? I feel like these are pretty important changes that quite a few issues have been spawned from. |

Allow the cache to be configurable in different contexts, and as well as which Functions are available on the library, currently is not possible to use different cache policies in the same JVM context since CacheProvider is statically set, same with Functions
