Include Misc Upstream Scripts

Suggested Feature

Include /usr/bin/ scripts from rEFInd to be able to install the contents of this package

Background Information

To not need to install the upstream package to use this one, can you please install:

/usr/bin/mkrlconf
/usr/bin/mvrefind
/usr/bin/refind-install
/usr/bin/refind-mkdefault
/usr/bin/refind-mkfont
/usr/bin/refind-sb-healthcheck

I'm currently packaging this for Arch Linux AUR.

Hi ... Thanks for the suggestion.

A few items:

1. Things are currently in pre-release lockdown for a few days for misc tests.

• Just an FYI ... Will be lifted soon.

2. On the items requested, I presume those are paths where rEFInd stores the scripts as part of its insallation.

• I believe they just live under the main dir in the source code and are moved into those locations by a script
• So, theoretically, could be similarly placed for RefindPlus

3. However, those scripts were all removed based on an assessment earlier on in this project development, which could be wrong, that they were not compatible with Refindplus and were adding noise during static analysis

• Assessment could have been wrong as said but there are significant differences in file structure and such:
  • The main directory in RefindPlus is currently called BootMaster and this will change for the release after the next.
    • It is called refind in rEFInd.
  • Some files have slightly different names in RefindPlus etc.
    • I think there are two screen.c files in rEFInd under different directories IIRC and one of them was renamed in RefindPlus.

4. While rEFInd comes as one binary, RefindPlus does REL, and/or DBG, and/or NPT.

• The REL build does not do log output and this requires DBG or NPT (for difficult issues)
• An install script would ideally need to at least place REL and DBG in place and the DBG deactivated.
• Was thinking to add a script to allow switching between the types

5. Talking about scripts, I did start of a couple but these are languishing on my local instance.

• Was planning to work on them "at some point"

6. Installation of RefindPlus should ideally have correct labelling of folders etc.

• The listed scripts would need amendments accordingly

I am not hardcore Linux by any stretch and definitely not familiar with AUR ... I do run Debian btw ;-)
Does AUR always compile stuff from source or can does it allow taking an already compiled binary?
If it does allow the latter, then might be easier for a script to grab rEFInd, swap the binary and install as rEFind.
At least until a proper RefindPlus package setup is done.

The script here is an example: #190 (reply in thread)
It can be improved to always grab the latest release of RefindPlus instead of a fixed version.
I will edit it for this presently.

Depends on how AUR works and what it expects though.
